EUROPE – Securities services provider the Bank of New York’s European vice president of corporate communications has left.

The bank’s New York-based senior vice president of corporate communications, Robert Grieves, confirmed the departure of Andy Sloan.

He declined to comment on the reasons for Sloan’s departure and said that the bank is looking for a replacement. Grieves said the departure was not part of a wider series of cuts.

In 2001 securities services and payments accounted for 47% of the bank’s revenue.

The Bank of New York was the most improved custodian in the R&M Consultants’ survey of custodians last month. In January BoNY bought Credit Suisse First Boston’s Pershing correspondent clearing division for two billion dollars in cash.
