Rachel Fixsen

Rachel has long been a freelance writer, and over the years, has written for The Telegraph, The Independent, The Observer, AMWatch and elsewhere. In 2001, her personal finance book Kickstart Your Money was published by John Wiley & Sons.

She is proficient in several languages, and read German with Portuguese at King’s College, University of London. She trained as a journalist at Centaur Communications before working as a reporter on the company’s title Corporate Money. Subsequently, she worked in Frankfurt am Main for AFP-Extel, and later became a correspondent for Reuters there, moving on to work as an editor at Reuters in New York.

Rachel is also a prize-winning fiction writer and her stories have been performed at the Bath Literature Festival and broadcast on BBC Radio 4. She also likes making music and pottery, and bracing cycle rides.
