GLOBAL - State Street Bank, Hermes BPK Partners, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, Nordea, Altira Advisory, Dow Jones Indexes, Mercer, Xafinity Claybrook

State Street Bank - Former managing director of Caceis Bank Deutschland, Evert van den Brink, has joined State Street as senior vice-president in charge of Germany and Austria. Van den Brink has previously worked for Fortis Bank and was managing director at UniCredit Group in charge of clearing, brokerage and custodian bank clients prior to its sale to Caceis in 2007. His role at State Street will see him expand the company's custodian bank business.

Hermes BPK Partners - Pawel Kisielewski has become a partner Hermes BPK. He will be responsible for driving the institutional fund of hedge fund partnership's business development strategy. Kisielewski joins from Caliburn Capital Partners, where as a partner and member of the management committee he has led client development for the past four years. Before then, he ran the global technology sales team at Merrill Lynch.

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management - Adam Horowitz has been appointed head of UK, Ireland and Israel, reporting to David Jervis, head of Europe, Middle East and Africa. Based in London, Horowitz will be responsible for the development and oversight of Merrill Lynch's wealth management business in the three countries. He has worked at Merrill Lynch for more than 11 years, serving most recently as head of EMEA global client coverage.

Nordea - Henrik Priergaard has been appointed as head of group human resources at the Nordic banking and investment group, taking over from Lars Häggström. Priergaard has been with Nordea for 25 years, having headed up Nordic Private Banking until this May. He is currently head of the group chief executive office.

Altira Advisory - Josef Pfannenstill has been named managing director, working alongside Altira Group's chief executive Michael Rieder. Pfannenstill, who has worked at BNP Paribas and Fortis Investments in the past, will be responsible for overall client services and work with distribution partners including fund of funds and investment managers.

Dow Jones Indexes - Sybille Reitz is stepping down as global head of public relations at Dow Jones Indexes, where she has worked for more than a decade. At the end of November, she will become communications officer for the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors, based in Frankfurt.

Mercer - Tina Slade has been appointed manager of the consultancy's customer relations centre, based in Chichester within its outsourcing business. A principal at Mercer, she will have responsibility for managing the customer care service across the UK. Slade joined from Niagara Healthcare, where she was Contact Centre Manager. Before then, she worked for Norwich Union.

Xafinity Claybrook - Michael Payten has joined the pensions software company as managing director following the retirement of founder Ron Barker. Payten has been promoted from the position of deputy managing director.
