GLOBAL - Mercer, OMAM, Franklin Templeton, Mirae Asset Global Investments, Kaiser Ritter Partner, GE Asset Management Incorporated

Mercer - Patrick Race has joined as head of the consultancy’s UK investment consulting business. He will lead the UK executive team and sit on Mercer UK’s leadership team. For the last four years, Race has been responsible for Mercer’s investment consulting teams in Birmingham, Windsor, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh. He also spent time in Chicago leading Mercer’s US Midwest investment consulting business. Before joining Mercer, he worked at Bacon & Woodrow’s (now Aon Hewitt) actuarial practice.
 
Old Mutual Asset Managers (OMAM) - Jenny Segal has been appointed head of institutional business. Segal will lead OMAM’s institutional sales and client service teams, covering the company’s equity and fixed income and alternative funds in the UK and internationally. She was previously senior vice-president of institutional business at AllianceBernstein. Before then, she was head of UK institutional business and senior director at Baring Asset Management, and previously held roles at Barclays Global Investors, KPMG Pensions and Clay & Partners.

Franklin Templeton Investments - The asset manager has made three hires to its private real estate businesses. Luke Anderson, vice-president, covers the Americas and reports to Marc Weidner, managing director. Simon Seen Fun Mok, investment manager, covers the Asia Pacific region and reports to Glenn Uren, managing director. Toby Hayes, investment manager, covers Europe and reports to Raymond Jacobs, managing director. All three will be responsible for sourcing, underwriting and monitoring private equity real estate investments in their respective regions.

Mirae Asset Global Investments Group - Betina Tomić has been appointed senior sales manager for German-speaking Europe. Tomić will be responsible for sales activities and marketing the company’s SICAV fund range in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She will be based in Mirae Asset’s EMEA headquarters in London. Before joining Mirae, she was a client relationship manager at Janus Capital International. Before then, she worked at Pioneer Fonds, Fidelity Investment Services and Dresdner Bank. 
 
Kaiser Ritter Partner - The Liechtenstein-based fiduciary, asset management and private banking group has formed a strategic alliance with Zurich-based Wellershoff & Partners, which will function as Kaiser Partner’s think tank for investment strategies. Klaus Wellershoff is taking on the role of chief economic adviser at Kaiser Partner, while Joachim Klement becomes chief investment adviser. The two companies will remain independent in terms of capital.

GE Asset Management Incorporated (GEAM) - Doug Heckman has joined as senior vice-president of institutional sales. He will report to Steve Johnson, senior vice-president and head of sales for the US and Asia, and have responsibility for GEAM’s investment capabilities to institutional investors in south-eastern US. Before joining GEAM, he was a managing director at Phoenix Investment Partners.
