UK – State Street Corp. has appointed WM’s Michael Walsh to take over as Scotland managing director from John Corcoran, who’s returning to Boston.

Walsh will continue in his position as head of WM Performance Services, which the bank bought in 2003 as part of the Deutsche Bank GSS business.

“Michael has done a terrific job in his role with WM, and I am confident that he can build upon the incredibly strong foundation John has helped to build in Edinburgh,” said northern European investor servicing head Jeff Conway.

Corcoran is returning to Boston to take up the role of senior vice president in State Street’s mutual fund administration group. He has been in the UK (primarily based in Scotland) for more than five years.

State Street also named Steve Wisson, former global head of operations at AXA Investment Managers, to the new role of senior vice president for client integration at its investment operations outsourcing group.

According to a State Street spokesperson, part of Wisson’s previous role at AXA IM involved the assessment of outsource providers.

“Steve brings more than 20 years of middle- and back office experience to his new position, and his expertise and broad market acumen will help solidify State Street’s position,” added Conway.
