GLOBAL – Advanced Investment Partners, a fund manager that is part of ABP and State Street’s venturing alliance, has gone past one billion dollars (843 million euros) under management.

The Florida-based quantitative equity fund manager is a member of the State Street Global Alliance which is jointly owned by Dutch civil service pension fund Stichting Pensioenfonds ABP and State Street Global Advisors, the asset management arm of State Street Corp.

"Exceeding one billion in assets under management is a great milestone for everyone associated with AIP," said AIP president and chief investment officer Doug Case.

"Investors are increasingly embracing the benefits of quantitative investment methods and have particularly endorsed the strength of the partnership we have developed with ABP and State Street Global Advisors."

The pension fund allied with the asset manager in 2001. The alliance “seeks out innovative asset management firms that complement SSGA's existing investment strategies and offer value-added performance to ABP's pension plan assets”.

AIP was set up in 1996 and its investment strategies are based on computer-driven models. It offers eight US equity investment strategies.
