UK – The Alternative Investment Management Association has named Christopher Fawcett as its new chairman, following a 34% growth in its membership.

The body, a UK-based non-profit trade association, said in a statement that it has appointed Fawcett, director of Fauchier Partners, to succeed Hans-Willem van Tuyll. Van Tuyll had chaired the association for the last two years and was deputy chairman for the previous four years.

Dermot Butler, the chairman of Custom House Administration and Corporate Services, was named as the association’s deputy chairman.

“AIMA experienced net growth of 34% in its global membership during 2002,” it said on its website. It now has 490 corporate members, an official said.
