AMJPE to run £20m Greater Manchester venture fund
UK – The Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF) is to create a new £20m venture capital for investment in local business with Aberdeen Murray Johnstone Private Equity (AMJPE) winning the tender to act as advisors to the fund.
The fund, entitled Ventures North West (VNW) 3, is the successor to VNW and VNW 2 with the fund having started its local venture projects in the 1980s.
Following a review exercise, the fund appointed AMJPE to advise them on the investment of VNW 3.
Councillor Ged Cooney, chairman of GMPF’s Local Initiatives and Venture Capital Working Group, comments: “With the assistance of our officers we have gone through a rigorous process culminating in the selection of AMJPE.
“We are confident that the skills and experience gained by AMJPE in connection with VNW 1 and 2 will continue to benefit both the pension fund and the region.”
