EUROPE – T. Rowe Price has revamped its London-based non-US equity research team with the appointment of former Goldman Sachs research executive Kamran Baig.

Baig, formerly co-head of European research at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, will take over from Gonzalo Pangaro.

Pangaro wants to move back into full-time portfolio management, a spokeswoman said. He “will be playing a larger ongoing role on our emerging markets investment team”. He joined in 1998 and took on the head of non-US equity research role in 2000.

The Baltimore-based firm said Baig will be a vice president and be based in London - overseeing 20 analysts.

A Goldmans spokeswoman said Baig left in March, adding his responsibilities were absorbed by the chief investment officer function.

“We are delighted that Kamran has joined T. Rowe Price International to head up our non-US equity research team,” said David Warren, president and chief executive of T. Rowe Price International.

“Research is core to what we do at T. Rowe Price, and Kamran’s appointment further bolsters one of the largest proprietary research teams in the industry.”
