NETHERLANDS - APG, the newly-established separate administration body of the giant Dutch ABP pension scheme, has today announced the appointment of Herman Hintzen as senior adviser.

APG announced today: "Hintzen has been named senior adviser to the board and senior management of APG Investments (All Pensions Group)."

He will advise the board and senior management on investment management and the financial markets, a spokesman told IPE.

Hintzen is the former managing director and chairman of the American investment bank Morgan Stanley's European insurance practice and former head of Credit Suisse First Boston's European financial institutions group.

Earlier, Robbert Coomans was appointed senior advisor to the board for private equity and infrastructure investments.

At the beginning of this month, ABP presented the long-awaited name for the new administration body, which it launched on March 1, after adopting a pension execution company (PUB) construction and ending its self-administering (ZAF) status by splitting into a pension fund and administrative body. Following in the footsteps of PGGM, which also has split its fund and administrator, APG will manage the €217bn ABP pension scheme, covering pension administration, asset management, ICT and communication.
