Baring Asset Management has announced the recruitment of Michael Hughes to the company, as a member of their strategic policy Group.

The policy group, based in London and chaired by James Williams is responsible for determining asset allocation policy for the firm's global equity and global balanced accounts.

Hughes joins Baring after 21 years at BZW in charge of economic research and strategy, during which he was named top ranked asset allocator in the annual Extel Survey of investment analysts.
