Globus Fondforvaltning, the Oslo based Norwegian investment fund management company, has appointed Barings Asset Management to run a newly launched NK20m ($3m) active European equity vehicle.
Bjarne Brynning, managing director at Globus, which manages assets of NK350m and procures much of its business from the mass market via a television talk show 'The Friday Exchange' through which individuals can buy units in a mutual fund, says the company chose Barings for its investment strategy as much as good performance.
We like the way Barings take a more sectoral approach to investment, with three teams looking at domestic, industrial and company driven equities. This cross-border approach with no tilts involved, allied to strong past performance and good team spirit were the deciding factors for us."
Hasse Nillson Advisory Associates acted as consultants."
