UK – Aviation and materials technology company BBA Group has appointed Mercer Human Resource Consulting to provide pensions management and scheme administration services to its pension scheme.
Pensions management was previously run in-house and administration services were provided by Capita.
David Cross, pensions manager explains: “BBA Group plc closed its defined benefit scheme last year and introduced a stakeholder system. The management of the pensions was therefore too little work to merit an dedicated in-house role, so we have decided to outsource the responsibility.”
“We wanted only one office to look after all aspects of running the schemes, so have handed over administration to Mercer as well.”
Cross himself is taking early retirement from the role to hand the responsibility over to Mercer, but will continue to be secretary of the pension scheme.
Mercer’s Leeds office will be looking after the BBA scheme.
BBA’s defined benefit scheme is around 300 million pounds (418.5 million euros) in size, and has approximately 12,000 members.
