Dominique Biedermann, former executive director with the Kanton of Zurich pension fund has take up a new position from September 1 as director at the Swiss Ethos foundation.

Biedermann was previously president at the foundation, created under Swiss law in February 1997, to manage pension funds and non-profit making organisations such as churches and medical schemes.

The fund was set up by the Kanton of Zurich and Switzerland's building companies' pension fund, and currently manages assets of around SFr380m ($255m) for 40 schemes.

Commenting on the move, Biedermann says:Ethos is growing fast and looking to diversify its present investments in Swiss and European equities into the world market.

The challenge now is to bring the experience of the many succesful fund and asset allocation changes made at Geneva to Ethos."
