FRANCE – Investment manager, CDC IXIS Asset Management (CIAM) has made a number of senior appointments as part of the reorganisation of its Paris-based management teams.

Roland Calvo has been appointed to the newly created role of chief investment officer and will remain chairman of the company’s investment committee, a position he has held since he joined as manager of strategy and research in 1998.

Roland Lescure, who has been with CIAM since 1999, will move up from deputy manager of strategy and research to take over Calvo’s former position as manager. He also assumes responsibility for global balanced investment management from Thierry Charon.

Charon will become manager of CIAM’s institutional marketing department, with a mandate to develop and strengthen client relationships management, whilst Hervé Guinamant, formerly marketing and corporate communications manager, has been appointed as manager of the retail distribution department. Charon and Guinamont have been with CIAM since 1998 and 1999 respectively.

Anne-Charlotte Faucher, who works in CIAM’s press and marketing department, says that the reorganisation isn’t an indication of a change of direction or strategy but was necessary for the company’s future growth. “We didn’t have a CIO before but felt we needed to create this position and reorganise our management teams to ensure we continue to grow effectively and efficiently,” she comments.
