FRANCE – €600m CDC Equity Capital, the leveraged buy-out arm of CDC Ixis, itself part of the Caisse des Dépôts group, has launched a new fund, CDC-Entreprises II, which is aimed at large-scale buy-outs in France with a target total of €450m.

The new fund is focused on investing in large leveraged buy-outs in excess of €100m and medium-sized leveraged operations between €50m-€100m in preferred sectors.

The fund’s first closing was in April, with a second in June 2001, when the fund’s value stood at €300m. The fund remains open to institutional investors, who have since committed another €60m. The final closing is anticipated at the beginning of 2002.

Furthermore, Caisse des Dépôts along with CDC IXIS Private Equity have both committed €200m to CDC-Entreprises II.
