The Chase Manhattan Corporation has announced a definitive agreement under which it will acquire the global custody business of Morgan Stanley, amounting to more than $650bn of assets under custody. This new addition to Chase will increase its global investor services' assets under trust and custody to more than $4.7trn, with around $1.8trn representing cross-border assets.
