UK – The £34m (e56m) industry-wide Chartered Accountants’ Employees Superannuation Scheme has appointed Chiswell Associates to manage the fund, which closed to new members in 1978.
Last year, the manager recruited John Clamp, the former chief executive of CAPS, to lead its expansion into pension fund management.
Clamp, director and head of pension fund marketing at the company, says: “This is a very significant win for us, and a very prestigious new client. We are delighted to win the mandate and are confident that it will be the first of a number of pensions wins as the industry becomes more aware of our capabilities and our exceptional record of performance allied with service.”
The mandate comprises a multi-asset portfolio with its own benchmark and a dedicated bond portfolio. David Kidd, chief investment officer, and Nick Bensted-Smith, head of UK equities, will be primarily responsible for the management of the account.
Chiswell Associates, which is a leading fund manager in the UK charities sector, has around £1.9bn of assets under management.
