EUROPE – Commerzbank has named Andreas Krebs as chief operating officer for its newly created international asset management division.
Krebs, currently managing director of the bank's Irish asset management operation Commerzbank Europe (Ireland), will work alongside Friedrich Schmitz, head of international asset management. He retains his Ireland role.
Krebs has previously worked in various institutional sales roles at Dresdner Asset Management and Commerzbank/ COMINVEST Asset Management.
"As COO, Andreas Krebs will support me in actively managing the division, implementing more operational efficiency and concentrating on a number of growth projects we have,” Schmitz said.
"With his wealth of experience in international asset management, he will contribute significantly in developing a coherent, client focused growth strategy."
Krebs took over the Dublin role in 2004. Before that he was head of consultant relations of Cominvest Asset Management in Frankfurt.
Commerzbank's international asset management arm has around 700 staff and operates in Dublin, London, Paris, Singapore and Tokyo.
