Corrections to Top 1000
Investment & Pensions Europe regrets that in the Top 1000 supplement with last month’s issue there were a number of errors and omissions that have been drawn to our attention.
The Munich-based European Patent Office fund, with assets of E1.9bn, was ommitted. The assets of the SE Banken EB & SB pension funds in Sweden should have read E3,080bn. We also gave the wrong figures for the Tractabel pensions funds in Belgium, which should have read E1.48bn for the end of 1999.
We omitted KBC Asset Management from our listing of Belgian asset managers. It is Belgium’s largest manager with assets under mangement of E70bn worldwide and E60bn in Belgium. In 1999, it won new institutional mandates in Belgium of E35m and this so far this year of E40m. Our table for Irish asset managers should have noted the acquisition of UBIM by KBC, which is now called KBC Asset Management Ltd.
Consultants Watson Wyatt have asked us to point out that it employs 11 actuaries and five investment specialists in Brussels and total employees there number 70. In Portugal it employs 32 including 15 actuaries and five investment
