Pictet's multi-asset chief Stanion dies
Percival Stanion, head of Pictet Asset Management’s international multi-asset business, has died at the age of 60 after a short illness.
Stanion, who joined Pictet in 2014, had previously worked for the company’s asset management division between 1993 and 1998 as head of global diversified accounts.
Before rejoining Pictet, Stanion was head of multi-asset at Baring Asset Management between 2001 and 2014.
Along with colleagues Andrew Cole and Shaniel Ramjee, Stanion led Barings’ flagship Dynamic Asset Allocation strategy before the trio moved to Pictet.
Stanion previously spent three years with BNP Paribas Asset Management as head of asset allocation.
Stanion, a graduate of Pembroke College, Oxford, was also an equity partner in Pictet and vice-chair of the asset management arm.
Stephen Barber, head of group communications, speaking on behalf of the Pictet Group, said: “He was a man of great integrity, culture and penetrating intelligence, whose insights into financial markets were always incisive and elegantly expressed.
“Percival bore his illness with fortitude and stayed involved in the business until very recently. We shall miss him.”
