BELGIUM – Paul Roels, a director with the Brussels office of consultant Deloitte & Touche, has quit the firm to join mutual pension insurance company Integrale.

Roels, an influential figure on the Belgian pensions scene and a lecturer at the University of Leuven, becomes secretary general at Integrale, a firm created around 75 years ago by employers to safeguard employee pension rights.

Roels comments: “For me it is like a return to my roots, because after 11 years as a consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte & Touche, I return to the insurance and pensions sector in which I worked already for 14 years with Fortis and Aegon.
“ I will continue with my side activities like lecturing at the Leuven University on employee benefits.”

Integrale currently incorporates more than 400 companies in its multi-employer structure, representing more than e700m in assets.
