The Netherlands office of consultant Watson Wyatt is to merge with the Dutch actuarial consulting firm Brans & Co on July 1 to bolster presence in the Dutch market. The new group Watson Wyatt Brans & Co will have offices in Amstelveen, Eindhoven and Rotterdam, as well as Watson Wyatt’s current Amsterdam base.
Ian Skinner, a partner at Watson Wyatt, comments: “This new arrangement represents an important strengthening of our business and the combined operation will have a significant presence in the Dutch marketplace.”
Established in 1945 as an actuarial firm, Brans & Co has extended its services from retirement consulting to incorporate legal aspects of em-ployee benefits, insurance, investment consulting and pensions ad-ministration software. The company employs around 100 staff, with Watson Wyatt bringing on board a further 15 employees.
Jan Oor, chairman of Brans & Co, says: “We are confident that our strong local client base and consulting expertise will fit well with Watson Wyatt’s.”
