Citibank Worldwide Securities Services (WWSS) has appointed Richard Ernesti as regional business head for Asia, effective from October.

Ernesti, who will be based in Hong Kong, will have direct management responsibility for all Citibank WWSS functions within the Asia region.
He replaces Anthony Galliano, who is currently looking at other opportunities within Citigroup.

Ernesti joins Citibank from Deutsche Bank where he was managing director, global securities services, responsible for client management and client service activities covering global institutional clients.

Prior to joining Deutsche, he worked at State Street Trust and Banking in Tokyo where he headed up the custody sales and marketing department.

James Donovan, head of emerging markets and Japan at Citibank WWSS, comments: “Our appointment of Richard Ernesti reflects our commitment to our customers and Asia. His broad range of experience in this region will be an asset to Citibank as we continue to grow our business in these important markets.”
