UK – Former Singer & Friedlander institutional head Peter Dencik has joined hedge fund group Key Asset Management as chief executive.

Dencik was most recently senior advisor to the Singer & Friedlander Investment Management board. He joined SFIM in 1995 as head of institutional business.

He is a former deputy executive director of Danish pension fund administrator PKA and was associate professor at the University of Copenhagen.

“Key is delighted to welcome Peter Dencik to the role of CEO,” said founder Morten Kielland and managing director Thomas Raber in a joint statement.

“We believe this appointment will create the structure, and provide the leadership, to continue our strong asset growth and demonstrates the commitment we have to the continuing success of Key Asset Management.”

Dencik added: “Leading a firm that has the track record, innovative abilities and critical mass that exist at Key is an excellent opportunity.”

Key was founded in 1989 and specialises in fund of hedge funds. It has offices in London, Oslo, Geneva, Stockholm and New York and has more than one billion dollars in assets under management.
