French socialist minister Gerome Cahuzac, charged with producing a government report on future pension reforms, has submitted his findings to prime minister Lionel Jospin. However, as of yet there are no indications that the report, which it is believed covers the implementation of funded pension schemes in France as well as trades union involvement, will be made public.

The report precedes the much anticipated findings of the government appointed pensions reform body, the'Commissariat du Plan' which are set to be published in March 1999, before any concrete steps are taken to overhaul France's pensions system.
