GLOBAL - Irish Association of Pension Funds, bpfBOUW, AGF, AXA Investment Managers, F&C, M&G, North of South Capital, PIMCO.

Irish Association of Pension Funds - Jerry Moriarty, the association’s director of policy, has been promoted to chief executive. Moriarty, who joined the IAPF in 2007 after six years as head of compliance at the Pensions Board, will however remain head of policy.  He started his career at Irish Life, then spending seven years at Sun Life, where he held a number of positions based both in Canada and the UK.

bpfBOUW - The Dutch pension fund for the construction industry has appointed Linda Teer as manager, investments at the fund’s executive office. Before joining bpf, Teer was head of research and strategy at the Doctors Penison Fund Service.

AGF - Ciaran Henry has joined AGF as director, business development for the EMEA region. Henry is responsible for business development and client service initiatives in the UK institutional market. He joins from Kleinwort Benson Investors where he was senior vice-president, business development for the UK since 2007. Prior to that, Henry held positions in client-relationship management and wholesale business development at the Bank of Ireland Asset Management.

AXA Investment Managers
- The firm has appointed Luisa Florez as senior fixed income analyst to its 10-member responsible investment team. Prior to this, AXA IM also appointed June Choi as senior corporate governance analyst and Vincent Compiegne as quantitative analyst.

F&C Investments
- The asset management group has recruited Mandy Mannix as head of institutional sales. Mannix is set to join F&C on 1 July 2012 from CQS where she is currently global head of sales and marketing. At F&C, she will be responsible for the distribution of the company’s investment capabilities and product offerings.

M&G Investments - Michelle Scrimgeour is set to join the company next week as group risk director. Scrimgeour was most recently co-head of fixed income business management at BlackRock, a position that also required her to sit on the company’s executive committee. She spent five years as BlackRock’s chief operating officer for international fixed income and has also worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.

North of South Capital
­- The global emerging markets fund manager has promoted Mark Watson as marketing director. Watson will be responsible for implementing the business development strategy, capital raising, and managing client relations. He started his new role on 1 June.

PIMCO - The investment management company has appointed Will Allport as defined contribution (DC) business development manager for UK and Ireland. Allport, who will be based in London, will be responsible for leading and implementing PIMCO’s DC strategy as the firm looks to build on its range of DC solutions and further enhance its relations with investment consultants, financial institutions, institutional and retail investors. Allport will report to John Griffiths, head of institutional business development for UK and Ireland.

EVCA - The European private equity and venture capital association has elected Vincenzo Morelli, senior advisor at TPG, as chairman. Morelli, who has already begun his one year term, started his career at Boston Consulting group and has since worked at GE, as well as acting as chairman of the European Private Equity Roundtable.
