GLOBAL - European Supervisory Authorities, AXA Investment Managers, MFS Investment Management, Duet Group, Sustainalytics

European Supervisory Authorities - The Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Authorities (EIOPA, ESMA and the EBA) has appointed William Blair, High Court judge in the Queen's Bench Division, as its president. Juan Fernández-Armesto, arbitrator and former chairman of the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission, has been appointed vice-president. Each will serve a five-year term, with the possibility one extension. The Board is responsible for deciding on certain decisions of the three authorities relative to, for example, breach of EU law, or settlement of disagreement between competent authorities in cross-border situations.

AXA Investment Managers - Shalin Bhagwan has been appointed to the newly created role of UK head of liability-driven investment, while Lucy Barron has been hired as senior pensions solution manager within the multi-asset client solutions team. Both join from Legal & General Investment Management. AXA IM said the appointments were made with the view to strengthening its LDI offering in the UK.

MFS Investment Management - Karen Moritz has joined the institutional team as director in Germany. She started in her new position on 3 September. She joins from Vontobel.

Duet Group - David Dali has been appointed as CIO of the Duet Emerging Markets fund, which will start trading from 1 November. He joins from Macquarie Investment Management, where he served as managing director and head of the emerging macro team. Before joining Macquarie, he co-founded OneWorld Investments. Separately, Jack Janasiewicz and Brian Hassett have been appointed chief strategist and head of operations, respectively. 

Sustainalytics - Hendrik Garz has been appointed managing director for Germany, while Claudia Volk has been appointed as a senior manager on the German research team. Both join from WestLB, where Garz was executive director of extra-financial research and Volk was extra-financial equity analyst.
