GLOBAL - IPE International Publishers, PFA Pension, PwC, Allianz Global Investors, Association of Investment Companies, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, ClearBridge Advisors, Montanaro, Investment Company Institute

IPE International Publishers - Former T Rowe Price board member Todd Ruppert has joined the board as a non-executive director. Ruppert worked at T Rowe Price for 27 years and, until the end of June, was president of Global Investment Services, a board member of T Rowe Price International and a member of the group operating steering committee. During this period, he was responsible for starting and spearheading the growth of T Rowe Price’s institutional and intermediary business outside the US, as well as running the institutional business in the US.

PFA Pension - Henrik Heideby, chief executive of Danish commercial pension provider PFA, has been appointed by the government as a member of the Danish Council on Corporate Social Responsibility (Rådet for Samfundsansvar). He will carry out the role for the council’s new mandate period from 2012 to 2015. Lise Kingo, group director of company Novo Nordisk, will be the new chairman of the council, while Anders Ladekarl, secretary general of the Red Cross in Denmark, takes on the role of deputy chairman.

PwC - Paul Kitson has been appointed as a pensions partner, joining from Nomura International, where he was a managing director in their pensions solutions team. He has also advised a number of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 companies on pensions issues. Deon Dreyer has been appointed as a pensions investment director based in the Midlands offices. He previously led a regional investment consulting team for Aon Hewitt and will provide PwC clients with a range of pensions investment advice.

Allianz Global Investors - Armin Sandhoevel, who has served as chief executive at Allianz Climate Solutions (ACS) for more than five years, will lead the renewable energies/infrastructure equity team as CIO. He is joined by five colleagues from the investment side of ACS, including Roderick MacDonald and Martin Ewald as portfolio managers.

Association of Investment Companies (AIC) -The board has elected Andrew Bell to be the new chairman, succeeding Sarah Bates. Bell will take up his new role from 24 January following the completion of Bates’s two years in office. Andrew has been director of the AIC since 2006, and a deputy chairman since 2011. He has been the chief executive of Witan Investment Trust since early 2010, and is a non-executive director of Henderson High Income Trust.

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP) - Neil Tong has been appointed as senior credit research analyst within the fixed income team. He joins from Alliance Trust, where he spent 16 years, most recently as a UK equity fund manager and desk head. Prior to that, he spent six years at General Accident, where his roles included head of fixed Interest and unitised funds.

ClearBridge Advisors - The Legg Mason subsidiary has appointed Scott Glasser as co-CIO. He will join current CIO Hersh Cohen in overseeing the company’s investment strategies. Glasser joined a ClearBridge predecessor in 1993 and has served as portfolio manager since 1994. He has also served as director of research and currently sits on the management and risk committees. 

Montanaro - Anna Lundén, currently a fund manager at Pinebridge Investments, is planning to join Montanaro in the New Year as a fund manager and senior analyst. Montanaro said Lundén boasted a wealth of experience in researching and investing in European small and mid-cap companies.

Investment Company Institute - The board of governors has elected Greg Johnson to serve as chairman for an additional one-year term. Johnson is president and chief executive at Franklin Resources and serves on the board of directors. He is also president of Franklin Templeton Companies and serves as a director of a number of the company’s subsidiaries, including Fiduciary Trust Company International.
