FTSE Group’s research and development director Carl Beckley is leaving the index provider after almost eight years to join Record Currency Management.
“We are in the process of looking for a replacement both internally and externally and will be making an announcement on any replacement in due course,” a FTSE spokeswoman said.
Beckley joined FTSE in October 1998 from SG Investment Management. According to the company’s website he was “responsible for the research and development of new indices and for the continual evolution of FTSE’s existing index range”.
He also oversaw consultancy assignments for stock exchanges and corporate clients worldwide such as fund managers and investment banks and other financial institutions. He’s a frequent writer and conference speaker. Record said Beckley would be joining as a director. It said: “Initially, Carl will be involved in furthering our work in product research and development.”
Chairman Neil Record said: “We are delighted to welcome Carl Beckley to Record. Carl has strong experience in the development of asset management industry products from idea to implementation.
“His background, both in the mathematical discipline of indices, and his earlier experience in derivatives, means that he is ideally placed to contribute to Record’s product.
