UK – Gartmore Investment Management says it has hired Kevin Scollan from J P Morgan Fleming Asset Management to the new role of head of pooled products.

He will report to head of commercial development David Middleton and join the company on September 6. The firm said Scollan would be responsible its product strategies in the UK and Europe.

“Kevin’s role will be to maximise the effectiveness of the company’s resources to ensure that the best investment product ideas are captured, assessed for feasibility and competitiveness and then developed, implemented and launched as winning products,” Gartmore said in a release.

“His experience in developing and enhancing European products will be invaluable to the company,” Middleton said.

Gartmore said Scollan joined J P Morgan in 1982 and was most recently vice president of European product development.

“We wish him well,” said a spokeswoman for J P Morgan, adding he was unlikely to be replaced as he was a member of a large team.
