NORDIC – Watson Wyatt has formally named Arne Genschou to take over from Erik Linder-Aronson as head of its Stockholm office, its base in the Nordic region.

Genschou, who’s been at the firm since 1994, had temporarily replaced Linder-Aronson when the latter left the firm earlier this year. It said at the time it would recruit a new managing director.

The appointment follows a period of upheaval at the office, which had seen the departures not only of Linder-Aronson, but also benefits head Elizabeth Wass and senior consultant Stefan Carlsson.

"Arne's appointment to this important leadership role underlines Watson Wyatt's belief in the Nordic market," said Babloo Ramamurthy, European manager at Watson Wyatt.

"Arne's considerable experience and background make him ideally placed to grow our already strong reputation with Swedish and other Nordic organisations and multinational corporations in the region."

"This is an exciting time to be taking on this role," said Genschou. "This summer's combination of Watson Wyatt LLP and Watson Wyatt & Company into a single, integrated global firm gives even greater momentum for us to grow our market share in the Nordic market."
