NETHERLANDS - Heissmann Consultants is to buy Dutch pension consulting and law firm Montae Advies for an undisclosed sum.

They said in a joint statement that they have signed a letter of intent to merge their businesses into Heissmann before June 1 2005.

"The combination of Heissmann Consultants and Montae Advies will create a strong player in the actuarial and legal pension industry in the Netherlands with 41 professionals in three offices," they said.

The Hague-based Montae has 11 employees and the deal is a good fit because it adds pension lawyers to Heissmann, said Henk van Embden, managing director at Gouda-based Heissmann.

"It extends our capabilities," he said. He declined to detail the financial terms of the transaction, which he said was friendly.

Heissmann is the European partner of Mellon's Human Resources & Investor Solutions arm, which is itself in the process of being bought by Affiliated Computer Services in a $445m deal.
