EUROPE – Hewitt Associates has named Zsolt Szelecki to head its European emerging markets group covering mostly Eastern European countries.

“In this new role, Zsolt will be focussed on leading and coordinating Hewitt's activities in Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden and Greece,” Hewitt said.

Szelecki, 39, will also develop central and eastern European markets such as Russia, Ukraine, the Baltic states and the Balkans.

He joined the firm as a market manager in Hungary in 2000 after setting up his firm in 1992 before forming a partnership with Hewitt.

“There are increasing opportunities across these markets so we want to pay dedicated attention to them,” said Hewit’’s European consulting head Roger Parkin.

“Zsolt has a strong client focus, good knowledge of the key markets and a successful track record as an entrepreneur.”

"My aim is to make the European emerging markets one of the fastest growing areas in Hewitt,” added Szelecki.

Elsewhere, rival firm Watson Wyatt has named Steven Grahame and Craig Mercer as investment consultants to its manager research teams in the UK.

They came from UBS Wealth Management and Stamford Associates respectively.
