IRELAND – Hibernian has named group finance director Tony O’Riordan as managing director of its Life & Pensions arm.

O’Riordan, who has been with the company since 1998, was director of finance for Hibernian Life & Pensions and Norwich Union Life before the two firms merged in 2000.

He used to work for Scottish Provident Ireland, Swiss Bank Corp. and actuaries Tillinghast.

"I am delighted to announce Tony’s appointment as managing director of Hibernian Life & Pensions,” said chief executive Bryan Jenkins. “Tony has been central to the Hibernian Group’s strong growth in Ireland over the last few years and now has a new challenge in leading the life and pensions part of the business forward".

The appointment is effective immediately. O’Riordan’s successor as finance director will be announced shortly.

Hibernian Life & Pensions, Ireland’s fourth largest life and pensions provider, is part of Aviva.
