Job swap at RailPen administrator
UK - RPMI, the third-party administrator set up by the £17bn (€25bn) Railways Pension Scheme, has created a staff exchange programme with consultancy company Shilling Communication.
Darlington-based RPMI approached Shilling with the scheme aiming to share expertise among industry professionals.
"As part of the scheme, participants will go and live the life of their counterpart and be fully involved in work projects as well as enjoy the social aspects of living in a different part of the country," RPMI announced in a statement today.
Kevin Shilling, founding director of the consultancy firm, commented the exchange "will allow us to offer the best possible solutions for our respective clients without treading on each others' territory".
The administrator saidits assistant communications manager, Andy Bamber, had already decamped to Hampshire for a week's work placement at Shilling.
"The contrast in size, location and client base of both of our companies means we can share our knowledge and both gain from the experience," said RPMI's David Madison, who has been driving the scheme.
He added: "We very much hope this initiative will encourage other within the industry to follow suit."
