EUROPE – Lehman Brothers has boosted its European asset management team with senior hires from the likes of CSAM, Putnam and Morgan Stanley IM.
According to UK and Northern Europe distribution chief Dik van Lomwel, the appointments will strengthen the investment bank’s client relationships in the UK and continental Europe.
Former Credit Suisse UK institutional sales and client relations manager Ed Jones has been appointed director, UK institutional sales.
Putnam Investments’ UK and European consultant relations manager Nick Spencer has been appointed director of consultant relations for pan-European consultants.
Tom Douie joins from Morgan Stanley Asset Management, where he was lead relationship manager for private banking. He will focus on pan-European third-party distribution.
Lastly, Kasper Kemp Hansen will cover the Scandinavian market. He joins Lehman Brothers from the Denmark-based Lundbeck Foundation – which provides funding for scientific research – where he oversaw the investment portfolio.
A spokesperson for Lehman Brothers told IPE: “The team is growing as the whole asset management business is growing.”
All four executives will report to Van Lomwel.
According to the staff memo, “Working in close partnership with our London and US-based product specialists, they will greatly enhance our client dialogue throughout the region.”
