A Dutch investment consultant is seeking a manager to oversee a private equity vehicle focused solely on medical research, using IPE-Quest.

In search QN1423, the investment consultant said it would consider private equity opportunities globally, allocating $100m (€74m) to core, value-added or opportunistic investment opportunities.

However, the consultancy said it was looking to limit its exposure to a specific area of medical research.

“[The] mandate is for the management of a dedicated fund to be established solely to fund companies that carry out research in the field of ALS [Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis]/motor neuron disease,” the search said.

The consultancy said further that it would consider managers with experience in bioscience and healthcare private equity, although firms previously overseeing broader mandates would also be welcome.

Managers should have at least three years, and preferably five years, of experience in private equity investing, although the consultancy declined to set a minimum asset under management figure for applicants.

The search also said it would prefer non-benchmark-orientated approaches.

Interested parties have until 27 June to apply, stating performance, net of fees, to the end of March.
