GLOBAL  - Norwegian Finance Ministry, Calamos Asset Management, SEI, Hymans Robertson, Cheyne Capital, Gartmore, Dominion Fund Management, HDG Mansur Investment Services, Nordea.

Norwegian Finance Ministry - County Governor Sigbjørn Johnsen has been reappointed as finance minister, succeeding Kristin Halvorsen, who is now education minister. He was previously finance minister between 1990 and 1996 and led the Pensions Commission between 2000 and 2002.

Calamos Asset Management - Terry O’Malley has been hired to expand the firm’s European institutional business. He was previously head of UK distribution at Credit Suisse and Invesco.

Cardano - Roger Lord is joining to look after Cardano’s UK quantitative solutions and systems while Alberto Marone has been hired to assess equity and credit distressed strategies. Lord previously supported Rabobank International’s exotic interest rate derivatives trading desk in London and Marone was a member of the investment committee and research team at Globefin European Advisors, the hedge fund firm.

SEI - Alexander van Aken is now director of client service for the Netherlands operation. He spent nine years at Fortis Investments, most recently as head of investment specialist solutions and prior to that he was global head of liability-driven investments.

Hymans Robertson - Debbie Falvey, previously business development manager and national client director at Life Trust, has joined as senior benefits consultant, while Dave Simson, formerly central processing manager at the London Pension Fund Authority (LPFA), has been appointed as a benefits consultant.

Cheyne Capital - Max Nardulli has been appointed to a newly-created position as head of international sales and distribution. His role excludes covering the UK. He was previously a managing director and head of the EMEA and Asia-ex Japan alternative capital markets team at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.

Gartmore - Jan de Bruijn is joining in early 2010 as head of Asian equities, reporting to Chris Palmer, head of global emerging markets. He was previously at Threadneedle Asset Management managing long-only and hedge fund Asian equity strategies.

Dominion Fund Management - Nick McCathie, who previously held a range of directorships at financial services firms, has been named as managing director at the firm, replacing Robin Fuller who is now chief operating officer. Jason Le Roux has been promoted to operations director while Teresa McFarlane is finance director.
 
HDG Mansur Investment Services - Robert Lawless has been named as chief financial officer. He will be a member of the executive investment and senior management committee. He was previously CFO and treasurer at Specialty Financial Corporation in Reno, Nevada.

Nordea - Petri Nikkilä will join on 1 February 2010 as new head of group marketing. He is currently business director for Unilever’s food business in the Middle East, Africa and Turkey region, and is based in South Africa.
