GLOBAL - Northern Trust, AonHewitt, Aviva Investors, Saltus Partners, StatPro Group, Threadneedle, Fundsmith

Northern Trust - Wilson Leech has been appointed the company’s chief executive officer for its Europe, Middle East and Africa region, based in London. He succeeds Biff Bowman, who will assume the position of head of Americas for corporate & institutional services when Lee Selander retires at the end of November. Leech was previously head of Northern Trust’s Global Fund Services Group.

AonHewitt
- Piyush Chaudhari has been named chief executive of Europe, Middle East and Africa region for the company, a position he previously held at Aon Consulting prior to its merger with Hewitt. Chaudhari has previously worked for McKinsey & Company, Motorola and IBM, before joining Aon in 2006. Olaf Petersen, who was a member of the board of Hewitt Deutschland, will take over responsibility for Germany.

Aviva Investors
- Stephanie Maier has become the company’s corporate responsibility (CR) manager, leading its CR programme and providing input into its external engagement activities. Maier was previously at Ethical Investment Research Services (EIRIS), providing intelligence on the ESG performance of developed and emerging market companies.

Saltus Partners - David Cooke has joined the boutique investment management firm, both as partner and member of its investment committee, where he will focus on asset allocation and investment strategy. He joins from Mint Securities, where he was chief investment strategist. Cooke worked at Goldman Sachs for 13 years and has also spent time at CQS as an equity long-short hedge fund manager.

StatPro Group - Ruggero Frisina has become European sales director at the global provider of portfolio analysis and asset valuation services for investment professionals. Before joining StatPro, Frisina spent four years at RiskMetrics. He also spent three years at BNP Paribas and has worked for Citigroup Asset Management.

Threadneedle - Raymundo Yu has been appointed to the newly-created position of Asia Pacific chairman with the investment house, where he will be tasked with expanding relationships and build on the established Asian presence of the asset management businesses of Ameriprise Financial, Threadneedle’s parent. Yu was chairman, Asia Pacific Region at Merrill Lynch for eight years and a member of the Merrill Lynch operating committee, as well as the company’s first Singapore-based regional director.

Fundsmith - Catherine Evans has been appointed institutional sales director of the newly-launched asset management company, with a brief to build long-term relationships with pan-European institutional investors and the investment consulting community. Evans joined the company from Driehaus Capital Management, She has also worked for Pictet Asset Management, Tremont Capital Management and Lynch, Jones & Ryan, a New York-based brokerage firm.
