NETHERLANDS – Mellon Analytical Solutions has announced the availability of a number of Dutch pension fund universes.
According to MAS, these universes will offer integrated reporting for custody clients, and deliver results in a timely manner.
MAS currently measures the performance of 17 Dutch pension schemes. A spokesperson told IPE that no names could be given for reasons of confidentiality.
These schemes have formed the basis for three statistical universes. These include the ‘Dutch Pension Fund Universe – Total Return’, the ‘Dutch Pension Fund Universe – Total Equities’ and the ‘Dutch Pension Fund Universe – Total Fixed Income’.
Statistics have initially been generated quarterly for periods from the start of 2002 and are available on a quarterly basis, said MAS.
Ongoing statistics will be calculated quarterly and made available approximately 27 business days after the quarter-end. MAS are currently investigating running these universes on a monthly cycle, with a minimum of year-to-date.
According to managing director Mick Brant of MAS International, “We are always looking at ways to expand the breadth of services we have to offer.
“The Dutch Pensions Fund Universes are an exiting addition and we look forward to expanding the range further as the number of funds that we measure increases.”
In March, Mellon Financial Corp. announced Bruce Feibel as global director of Mellon Analytical Solutions. He previously headed Mellon’s Eagle PACE and Eagle Performance units, and retained that role as MAS and Eagle are to be combined.
