IRELAND – Kevin Potts, managing director of Mellon Financial Corp.’s fund administration arm in Dublin, has resigned.

“Kevin Potts has decided to leave the investment funds industry to pursue other career interests,” Mellon said. “He is resigning as managing director of Mellon Fund Administration (Dublin) Limited (MFAD) with effect from the end of June and will remain as a non-executive director of MFAD.”

Mellon added that it has named Harley Murphy as its first country manager in Ireland.

It said: “The new country manager position has been created in recognition of the rapid growth of Mellon’s Irish fund administration, trustee and global custody businesses, which administer funds of approximately $20bn and employ more than 60 people in Dublin.”

Murphy, who previously worked for Mellon in Edinburgh, will report to George McKay, executive director of business development for Mellon European Fund Services in London.

John Maguire becomes head of fund administration services while Anne King, managing director of Mellon Trustees (Dublin) Ltd., keeps her responsibilities. Both will report to Murphy.

Potts joined Mellon in 2003. He previously worked at KPMG, Deutsche Bank, AIB/BoNY Fund Management (Ireland) and BNP Paribas Fund Services (Ireland) Ltd.
