EUROPE - Mercer Human Resource Consulting has made four senior appointments to its international consulting team, including two new hires.

The firm said that European partner Piia Pilv would “take on a leadership role across Europe” in its global stock plan consulting team. Previously based in Mercer’s Amsterdam office, she will now be partly based in London.

Alexy Armitage has joined Mercer as a European principal, focussing on consulting to multinational companies on global stock plans. She was formerly with law firm Baker & McKenzie.

It added that it has hired Robert Lockley from Towers Perrin to be a senior consultant. “His role will involve providing advice to multinational companies on all aspects of their global employee benefits strategies,” it said.

And Peter Blake has moved from the firm’s Chicago office to be a European principal and senior consultant. He will be responsible for providing international human resource consulting to multinational companies.

Alastair Hunter, Mercer’s UK head of international consulting, said: "Increasingly, European companies are looking to adopt a global or regional approach to the management of pay and benefits.

“These new appointments will add further strength to Mercer's capability to respond to increasing demand in this changing business environment."
