UK - Deloitte's Sarah Elwine has been appointed as principal at Mercer Human Resource Consulting's London-based retirement business, the company announced today.

Elwine, a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, will provide pensions and benefits advice to Mercer's trustee and corporate clients, the firm said in a statement.

Joining from Deloitte, where she was a senior manager, her appointment is effective immediately, according to the firm.

Elsewhere, Aberdeen Asset Managers has recruited Watson Wyatt's Rik Brouwer to grow the firm's Dutch pension business.

Based in Amsterdam, Brouwer will further work on growing the €4.5bn in assets which the group currently manages for its Dutch institutional clients.

"We will continue to work on Aberdeen's reputation in the Netherlands," Brouwer told IPE, adding: "€4.5bn is a very nice basis and we are one of the larger asset managers in the Netherlands, but there is enough scope for more growth."
