UK – Richard Boon, a former director in institutional investment management with Morgan Stanley, is joining Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as managing director and head of the manager’s London based US investment team in July.

The team manages some US$8bn in assets for European and Asian clients.
Boon will report to Andreas Utermann, global head of equities and Gary Lowe, co-head of equities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Merrill.

“Richard’s track record speaks for itself. He’s a great catch and we are delighted he’s joining the team. We’ll be using his experience in US and global equities to enhance our current capabilities and bring clients the very best in investment banking,” says Andreas Utermann.

Boon handled global equity products for six years at Morgan Stanley.
He also has specialised experience in US stock selection in the telecommunications, oils, insurance, media, hardware, defence and utilities sectors.
