UK – The Neptune European Opportunities Fund investing in a concentrated portfolio of 40 to 50 European stocks has been launched by Neptune Investment Management, formed earlier this year by Robin Geffen.

The fund will predominately invest in European equities excluding the UK. The investment approach will be to select stocks using a top down process looking first at sector and then region, before making the stock selection. The approach is style-neutral and large-cap approach, using quant and qualitative research. It will be managed in an active fashion, says Neptune.
"The aim is to achieve above average, consistent and stable high returns," the firm adds.

Fund manager Barry Norris says European share price falls have "unearthed compelling value in a number of high quality European companies", adding that there are "selective opportunities for capital appreciation". The fund aims at top quartile performance against similar funds with concentrated portfolios.

Using an UK-based open-end investment company structure, the fund is aimed at both retail and institutional investors. The minimum investment is £1,000 (e1,560).
