Aon Consulting’s Belgian co-MD Claes leaves

EUROPE – Anne Claes, joint managing director at Aon Consulting in Belgium, has left.

Claes confirmed to IPE that she would leave but did not say what she would do next. She joined when KPMG sold its Belgian actuarial business - which she headed - to Aon for an undisclosed sum in 2003.

“Anne Claes has chosen to stop serving as managing director of Aon Consulting Belgium,” communications manager Simon De Schryver told IPE. “Anne Thiry, fellow managing director of Aon Consulting Belgium, and her team, will continue to lead Aon Consulting Belgium into the future.”

Separately, the firm has made four senior consultant appointments at the Stockholm office it set up last September: Anders Palm, Cecilia Rönn, Helena Berggren and Martin Källström.

They join senior consultants Ola Larson, Mikael Westlund and managing director Mats Langensjö at the office.

Three have already joined. Rönn had her own company, Berggren joins from Mercer’s Benefit Network and Källström was previously at Watson Wyatt. Palm, senior manager for KPMG, is due to begin next month.

No direct replacement has been made for either Berggren or Palm. Watson Wyatt was not available for comment.

Aon said Palm has worked for more than 25 years as an adviser in the area of design, structure, tax- and accounting issues regarding pensions. Rönn is “one of the most experienced advisors” in pension financing issues, benefit design and implementations.

Berggren has experience in project management and implementation of large pension plans, while Källström, who will also be business developer, has experience of actuarial services, evaluation of pension liabilities, financial risks and investment issues.

“The company plans a rapid Swedish expansion and the recruitments are a part of the strategy, to become the Swedish market leader within pensions, investments and benefits before the end of 2007,” Aon said in a statement.
