UK - John Ashcroft, head of strategy at the UK's Pension Regulator (tPR) is set to leave early next year, IPE has learnt.

Ashcroft, head of strategy since 2005, confirmed to IPE he will leave tPR in late January, though "the destination is as yet unknown," he added.

His replacement has yet to been found, he said in an interview this morning.

Prior to his role with tPR, Ashcroft was strategic policy director at the Occupational Pensions Regulatory Authority, which he joined in September 2003. His earlier post was responsible for regulatory input to the change programme which established tPR in 2004 and the strategic policy team.

Late last month, Ashcroft resigned as chairman of the International Organisation of Pensions Supervisors (IOPS), where he served for three years.

The IOPS said on Friday it has appointed Ross Jones, deputy chairman of the Australian Prudential Regulatory Authority (APRA), as its new president.
