UK – The Australian-headquartered Brambles group, which provides support services globally, has chosen Aon Consulting to provide pensions and actuarial consulting services to its UK subsidiaries.

According to an Aon statement, the consulting group will be taking over the actuarial and consulting services of the group’s UK business, in particular CHEP, Cleanaway and Brambles Industrial Services.

Ralph Turner, group pensions director for Brambles, said that Aon was selected as it showed a ”commonsense approach and an ability to meet our business needs whilst building good relationships with our in-house team”.

He also noted: “Aon provided us with some thorough research and we welcome their pragmatic views on the way forward with DC (defined contribution).”

Brenda Capel, Aon’s client relationship manager, said the consultancy would be working on all of the Brambles UK pension schemes. “Our aim is to keep advice and scheme management simple and at the same time manage down any risks associated with existing benefits.”

Brambles employs 30,000 people worldwide. Brambles Industries is listed both in Australia and in UK.
