Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) has appointed David Bilbe as managing director of investor services. Bilbe joins from State Street Bank where he was head of the London office.

In the new role he is responsible for relationship management and business development for the regions serviced by the London office.

He replaces Paul Chapman who has moved to Pershing, the securities specialist belonging to Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette

“David has a proven track record of successfully developing global custody businesses and he understands the needs of our clients,” says Andrew Tucker, a partner at BBH.

Bilbe joins at a time when Brown Bothers is adding to the products offered out of London. Last year it set up a securities lending operation and eighteen months ago launched a foreign exchange service. The London office now services clients throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Says Bilbe: “I am delighted to be joining BBH at an exciting point in its history in Europe. The reputation of the firm for service quality, coupled with a history of technical innovation, offer BBH enormous growth potential.”
